Kimura Foundry America, Inc. (Shelbyville, Indiana) completed the installation of a new induction furnace with a melting capacity of 2,000 lbs. (1 ton). The furnace enables Kimura to follow customers’ expectation for heavier casting parts, especially in the industries such as construction, agricultural machinery, power generation, oil & gas, pump and compressor. The company can also improve efficiency of the pouring process with a higher capacity of single furnace to pour multiple numbers of parts at one time.
The company started operation in November 2018 with three furnaces, two with capacity of 300 lbs. and one with 500 lbs. melting capacity. With these 4 furnaces, the company can produce castings from a couple of pounds up to 1700 lbs. of single product weight.
The 4th furnace is used for melting a variety of materials. Not only popular grades of gray and ductile irons, but also steel, stainless steel, heat resistant steel, and compact graphite iron. All furnaces in Kimura Foundry America are connected to a furnace monitoring system for safety and stabilized operation.
Kimura Foundry America decided to invest into a new furnace to meet customer needs which require very quick and flexible turnaround of quality casting parts.
